Child-Friendly Food Options in Tibet
Planning a Tibet trip with kids and worried about "what will they eat"? Don't stress—Tibet, one of China's most popular travel destinations, has an array of kid-approved food options that are both tasty and gentle on tiny tummies! Most restaurants in tourist hotspots like Lhasa, Shigatse, and Nyingchi follow strict hygiene standards, so you can feel confident about the ingredients. Best of all, nearly every eatery is happy to adjust dishes for kids: think "less oil, less salt, and softer textures"—perfect for little mouths. And these mild, nutrient-packed Tibetan food actually helps with altitude adaptation, so your kids can enjoy their meals while getting used to the plateau.

Daily Eats: Familiar Flavors with a Tiny Tibetan Twist
When it comes to daily meals, stick to foods your kids already love—with a small Tibetan touch to keep the adventure fun! For staples, consider Tibetan porridge: think creamy highland barley porridge or millet porridge. It's super soft and easy to digest, plus highland barley is full of fiber to keep kids full. Ask the restaurant to add a little sugar or honey to make it sweet. Just say "no butter" if you want to skip the richness. Vegetable and egg noodles are another hit: the noodles can be cooked extra soft, tossed with familiar veggies like tomatoes and carrots, and topped with a fluffy egg for protein. Don't forget to say "no chili" when ordering—some places add a tiny kick by default! For a simple side, white rice with stir-fried veggies is always a safe choice, packing in vitamins without any surprises.

Tibetan yogurt is also a must: it's a traditional fermented food full of probiotics. Some restaurants even make yogurt fruit bowls with bananas or apples.
Yak meatball soup is another fantastic pick. Yak meat is lean and high in protein, and when it's made into tiny meatballs, it's easy for kids to chew. The soup is light, and usually comes with soft radish slices to cut through any richness. Your kids won't even realize they're trying a famous Tibetan ingredient—win-win!
And don't miss Tibetan curry rice. It's a cozy mix of Indian-style curry and local Tibetan ingredients, with a mild flavor. It comes with rice and super soft potatoes and carrots—all foods kids already love, but with a little exotic twist to remember the trip by.

Conclusion
Our Tibet travel packages include well-arranged meals at specific parts of your journey: you'll get buffet breakfasts at most hotels, a welcome dinner, and an authentic farm-style lunch at local homestays—all thoughtfully planned for you. For the rest of your main meals, we leave plenty of freedom for you to choose on your own. No fixed group dining here! That way, you can pick dishes that match your taste perfectly—no need to worry about not liking the food at all.

plan a 7-8days trip for me and my boyfriend in April
Hi! I would like to plan a 7-8days trip for me and my boyfriend in April (3rd to 10th ideally) to Nepal, Tibet, and, if possible, Bhutan. Do you think it would be doable? Based on what I read, there are some places/things to do to consider: Nepal: Everest Base Camp trek and the Annapurna Circuit, ancient temples, sacred sites like Lumbini, Kathmandu, Tibet: The Potala Palace in Lhasa and the Jokhang Temple. eventually the holy Mount Kailash or the high-altitude plains. Bhutan: Thimphu, Paro, and the famous Tiger’s Nest Monastery. To take part in cultural traditions, yoga, meditation... Of course I am open to any recommendations you could make. For your reference, we are both based in Asia: him, in Bangkok and myself in Macau. Thank you so much for the information you could provide and, if possible, an estimated budget for your offer.
