- Shigatse is the second-largest city in Central Tibet and the capital of Shigatse Prefecture. The region is home to several popular trekking routes, including the path to Everest Base Camp and Gama Valley. The 1,300 km Friendship Highway, connecting Lhasa and Kathmandu, passes through Shigatse, linking some of Tibet's most important monasteries and tourist sites.
- Nyingchi, located in western Tibet, has the lowest altitude and pleasant weather year-round. Often called "the Switzerland of Tibet," it is known for its stunning natural beauty, with snow-capped mountains and dense forests.
- Ngari, located in northwestern Tibet, sits at an elevation of 4,500 meters above sea level. It is where the Himalayas, Gangdise, and Kunlun Mountains meet, and is home to Mount Kailash and Lake Manasarovar.
- Lhokha (Shannan), known as "the cradle of Tibetan civilization," lies along the middle and lower reaches of the Yarlung Zangbo River. This region features renowned monasteries, palaces, beautiful lakes, and peaceful river valleys, creating a unique landscape.
- Chamdo Prefecture, located in eastern Tibet along the Sichuan-Tibet Highway, connects Sichuan with Tibet. It is also famous for the ancient Tea-Horse Road, part of the South Silk Road.
