Welcome to Lhasa, upon arrival in Lhasa, our guide and driver will meet you and transfer you to your hotel in downtown Lhasa via one-hour expressway drive (70 km). After checking in, we recommend you take some time to rest and acclimatize to the altitude to ensure a smooth start to your journey.

Day 2: Lhasa City Sightseeing

Today, you'll visit two iconic monasteries in Lhasa, Drepung Monastery and Sera Monastery. Delve deep into the profound teachings of Tibetan Buddhism and immerse yourself in the quiet, meaningful daily routines of Tibetan monks.

Today, you'll explore two of Lhasa's most important monasteries. Visit Drepung Monastery, once the largest monastery in Tibet, known for its historical significance and beautiful architecture. Walk through its halls, prayer rooms, and monastic kitchens, where Buddhist traditions continue to thrive.

In the afternoon, visit Sera Monastery, best known for its unique monk debates, where monks engage in animated discussions in the courtyard, using expressive gestures to challenge each other's philosophical viewpoints. (Debates are held Monday to Saturday at 3:00 PM, except on Sundays.)

    Day 3: Lhasa City Sightseeing

    Today's highlights: the UNESCO-listed Potala Palace; Jokhang Temple, Tibet's holy site; and a leisurely stroll along Barkhor Street, where pilgrims spin prayer wheels as they perform their sacred kora.

    Begin your day with a visit to Potala Palace, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the former winter residence of the Dalai Lama. As you climb its 365 steps, admire its grand halls, ancient murals, sacred Buddha statues, and breathtaking views over Lhasa.

    Next, visit Jokhang Temple, Tibet's most sacred pilgrimage site, where the 12-year-old Shakyamuni Buddha statue is enshrined. Then, take a walk along Barkhor Street, a vibrant market where Tibetan pilgrims perform kora (ritual circumambulation), spinning prayer wheels as they walk.

      Day 4: Lhasa-Namtso Lake-Lhasa

      This day you'll enjoy the breathtaking scenery of Namtso Lake

      Begin the day with a scenic drive from Lhasa across the expansive Damxung Grassland, where the Qinghai-Tibet Railway traces a graceful line beneath distant snow-capped mountains. As the road ascends into the Nyenchen Thanglha Range, stop at Lagenla Pass (5,190 meters) to enjoy your first breathtaking view of Namtso Lake, its deep blue waters stretching endlessly across the plateau.

      Continue descending to the lake's southeastern shore and arrive at the Tashi Peninsula. Here, stroll among striking karst formations beside the tranquil lake. Accompanied by your guide, explore ancient meditation caves and hidden sacred sites, where the harmony of nature and spirituality defines the essence of Namtso.

          1. How far in advance should I book the Everest Base Camp tour?

          To ensure a smooth journey, it is recommended to book the tour at least 15-20 days before departure.

          Of course, booking 1 or 2 months or even earlier will help us apply for necessary travel documents on your behalf and make advance reservations for accommodations.

          Additionally, early booking provides the opportunity to enjoy early bird discounts.

          The earlier you book, the better prepared you'll be, and you won't be troubled in a rush.

          2. What are the necessary travel documents for visiting Everest Base Camp in Tibet?

          Before you leave, make sure to get your Chinese Visa and Tibet Travel Permit in advance so you can enter the Tibet Autonomous Region.

          Some other local travel documents, like the Alien’s travel permit for visiting areas outside Lhasa, can be obtained upon your arrival in Tibet.

          We’ll take care of Tibet Travel Permit, as well as other local travel documents as part of our tour package. Simply follow our guidance, and there’s no need to worry about the process.
