Pelku Tso Lake: The Mirror of Shishapangma
Pelku Tso, a stunning alpine lake in Tibet that holds a special title: the Mirror of Shishapangma. On a calm day, the lake's pristine turquoise waters perform a perfect illusion, creating a flawless reflection of the 8,012-meter Shishapangma—the world's 14th highest peak. The majestic mountain and its mirror image connect seamlessly, a spectacle of perfect symmetry that feels like discovering a hidden secret of the Himalayas.

Tucked away in the Shigatse region, not too far from the Everest Base Camp route, Pelku Tso Lake offers a serene and intimate alternative to Tibet's more famous lakes. It's as if Shishapangma keeps its own private mirror, reserved for those travelers who venture a little off the beaten path.

While the mirror image is the main draw, the experience at Pelku Tso is multi-layered. It's a fantastic spot for landscape photography, where you can capture not just the reflection but also the vibrant colors of the Tibetan plateau. The area is also a haven for wildlife; keep your eyes peeled for graceful black-necked cranes (especially during spring), Tibetan gazelles, and wild donkeys roaming the grasslands. This is where you truly feel the powerful, untouched spirit of nature.
Pelku Tso fits beautifully into a classic Tibet tour itinerary. For a seamless addition to your trip, you can visit the lake after exploring Everest Base Camp while traveling westward to Ngari. This route is incredibly rewarding, allowing you to experience two of the Himalayas' greatest wonders in one seamless, unforgettable trip.

Conclusion
During the prime travel months of April–May and September–October. When the wind dies down, the lake's surface becomes as smooth as glass, creating that iconic mirror effect.

plan a 7-8days trip for me and my boyfriend in April
Hi! I would like to plan a 7-8days trip for me and my boyfriend in April (3rd to 10th ideally) to Nepal, Tibet, and, if possible, Bhutan. Do you think it would be doable? Based on what I read, there are some places/things to do to consider: Nepal: Everest Base Camp trek and the Annapurna Circuit, ancient temples, sacred sites like Lumbini, Kathmandu, Tibet: The Potala Palace in Lhasa and the Jokhang Temple. eventually the holy Mount Kailash or the high-altitude plains. Bhutan: Thimphu, Paro, and the famous Tiger’s Nest Monastery. To take part in cultural traditions, yoga, meditation... Of course I am open to any recommendations you could make. For your reference, we are both based in Asia: him, in Bangkok and myself in Macau. Thank you so much for the information you could provide and, if possible, an estimated budget for your offer.
