Tibet Wildlife and Cultural Tours for Family Tours
Tibet, one of the regions with the lowest population density in China, offers such a wide variety of wildlife and scenery. Because of less destruction and interference to wildlife habitats, many Tibet's areas still maintain a primary natural state, providing a peaceful living environment for wildlife. Most parts of Tibet are located at high altitudes with a cold climate, which has fostered a distinctive biological habitat suitable for some wildlife such as snow leopards. Moreover, Tibetans' respect for nature and wild animals contributes to wildlife protection. Additionally, Tibet is famous for its own Buddhism culture. Getting in touch with Tibetan culture enables you to absorb some new knowledge. To sum up, encounters with diverse wildlife species and in-depth experiences of rich cultural heritages make Tibet a must-visit destination for travelers.
What Attractions in Tibet Are Suitable for Family Tours
Lake Yamdrok
Located in Shannan City, it is one of the three holy lakes in Tibet. Lake Yamdrok, a huge freshwater lake, with abundant vegetation in the surrounding area, provides the basic conditions for the survival of wildlife. Maybe with a little luck you can catch a glimpse of Himalayan ibexes, Tibetan antelopes, Tibetan foxes and so on. There lies an ideal haven for picnicking and camping.
You and your families can head to the lakeside and have fun in outdoor activities.
Everest Base Camp
It's interesting for a family to explore the highest areas in the world together. Engaging in a moderate trekking adventure around Everest Base Camp not only serves as a wonderful opportunity to enhance the physical fitness and willpower but also significantly strengthens the unity and harmony within a family. Black-necked Crane can be probably seen in wetlands, riversides, and swamps near the Everest Base Camp, while Tibetan wild donkey is common in the open grasslands and hillsides.
The Potala Palace
You won't find a better place in Tibet to take a family photo than the Potala Palace. Not only does it offer a visually stunning backdrop, but every corner of the Potala Palace seems to tell a story of profound cultural heritage. The Potala Palace is also a grand treasure-house, providing a great place for family members to learn about Tibetan culture in it. Here, children can gain knowledge in many fields such as Tibetan history, religion, architecture, and art.
