How Expensive Is It to Visit Tibet from Europe?
For most travellers, Tibet sits comfortably in the "mid-range" bracket, not the luxury stratosphere. A classic eight-day loop of Lhasa, Yamdrok Lake and Everest Base Camp can be done for a relatively cheap price—provided you avoid traveling to the far-west Ngari region, where kilometres multiply and every litre of fuel is flown in. Virtually, the biggest chunk of your budget—30% to 50%—will go toward getting to and from Tibet. This makes transportation costs a key factor in shaping your total expenditure. For economy class flights, round-trip fares from major European cities to Lhasa (via hubs like Beijing or Chengdu) typically range from €950 to €1,300 in low season to €1,400 to €2,000 in peak months like July and August.

Our Tibet travel packages may not claim to be the cheapest, but they stand out for exceptional value—you get exactly what you pay for. In the low season (November to January), our packages average €110 to €130 per day. This includes your Tibet Travel Permit, attraction tickets, hotel stays, selected meals, in-region transportation between sites, driver and guide services, travel insurance, and airport transfers. During the busiest months (July to August), prices edge up to €120 to €140 per day, though exact rates vary by itinerary and are best confirmed with a direct inquiry, given Tibet's fluctuating travel costs.

Beyond your package, plan for additional expenses. While daily meals aren't fully included in the package—city hotels do provide breakfast, but you'll need to cover most lunches and dinners yourself—a meal typically cost between €2 and €10 per person. You'll also want to budget for souvenirs, optional oxygen rentals (depending on your altitude tolerance), and your Chinese visa, which costs anywhere from a few dozen to over a hundred euros, depending on your country and service options.

Conclusion
Tibet's beauty—snow-capped peaks, ancient monasteries, and serene lakes—is worth every euro spent to reach it. For more money-saving tips, check our website. But for the most accurate, personalized price, there's no better way than consulting our travel advisors directly. Let us help you turn your Tibetan dream into an affordable reality.

plan a 7-8days trip for me and my boyfriend in April
Hi! I would like to plan a 7-8days trip for me and my boyfriend in April (3rd to 10th ideally) to Nepal, Tibet, and, if possible, Bhutan. Do you think it would be doable? Based on what I read, there are some places/things to do to consider: Nepal: Everest Base Camp trek and the Annapurna Circuit, ancient temples, sacred sites like Lumbini, Kathmandu, Tibet: The Potala Palace in Lhasa and the Jokhang Temple. eventually the holy Mount Kailash or the high-altitude plains. Bhutan: Thimphu, Paro, and the famous Tiger’s Nest Monastery. To take part in cultural traditions, yoga, meditation... Of course I am open to any recommendations you could make. For your reference, we are both based in Asia: him, in Bangkok and myself in Macau. Thank you so much for the information you could provide and, if possible, an estimated budget for your offer.
