Cost of 7-Day Tibet Trip for Budget Travelers
Traveling to Tibet requires a bit more planning and investment compared to other cities in China due to its unique geographical location and regulations. As Tibet is situated on a plateau, resources are relatively scarce, and foreign travelers are not allowed to travel independently. Instead, they must book a tour package through a Chinese travel agency, which includes professional English-speaking guides and private drivers for transfers. These factors, along with the specialized services provided, make traveling to Tibet slightly more expensive than other Chinese cities, but it's well within a reasonable range.
During the off-season, which spans from February to November, a economical 7-day tour like the 7 Days Lhasa to Kathmandu Overland Tour is priced around 930 USD. In the peak season, which is from June to August, the cost for the same budget tour package increases to approximately 1120 USD. For other times of the year, the price will fluctuate between these two rates. It's important to note that these prices are reflective of the specialized services and accommodations required for a comfortable and safe journey in Tibet.
If you can extend your travel itinerary to 8 days, the 8 Days Lhasa to Everest Base Camp Tour is an excellent choice. Opting for the ecnomical type, the price for this tour varies between 890 USD and 1100 USD throughout the year, depending on the season. This tour offers a comprehensive experience, taking you through the most important and recommended attractions in Tibet, including a night at the highest base camp in the world, Mount Everest.
What Are Included in Our Tibet Travel Package?
Understanding the services included in the Tibet travel package helps to plan your budget effectively. Our travel agency offers all-inclusive packages, ensuring no hidden costs. We take care of the Tibet Travel Permit application and provide domestic mailing services within China. The package covers all listed attraction entrance fees in the itinerary, as well as the necessary fees for the environmental protection vehicles to Everest Base Camp. You'll enjoy comfortable stays at three-star hotels and local guesthouses throughout your Tibet journey, with breakfast included. Transportation by tour vehicles, along with driver services, is fully covered. Our Tibetan English-speaking tour guides will accompany you, sharing insights into the region's rich culture and history. Savor special local lunches, as well as a warm welcome dinner and a farewell dinner. We also include travel accident insurance for your well-being. For high-altitude areas, medical oxygen will be available in the vehicle. As a bonus, you’ll receive exquisite Tibetan gifts and detailed maps. And to start and end your trip smoothly, we offer complimentary pick-up and drop-off services between the airport/railway station and your hotel.
What Will You Have to Pay for by Yourself during a Tibet Trip?
At our travel agency, considering that our guests come from diverse backgrounds with a variety of tastes. That's why, in addition to breakfast and a welcome lunch or dinner, we do not include set meals in our tour packages. Instead, we encourage you to explore the culinary delights at your own pace. You'll find a wide array of dining options to suit every palate and budget. For instance, at Barkhor Street, you can enjoy a satisfying meal at a local Tibetan restaurant for an average of 8 to 14 USD per person. Additionally, there are plenty of affordable street food options available for as little as 5 to 6 USD. This flexibility allows you to savor the authentic flavors of Tibet while also having control over your dining expenses.
While our vehicles are equipped with oxygen cylinders for your convenience, it's important to note that individual needs may vary based on different physical conditions. Given Tibet's high-altitude environment, some travelers might require additional oxygen. The daily expense for purchasing oxygen can range from 4 to 20 USD.
In Tibet, tipping is not mandatory, but it is a kind gesture that's appreciated for good service. If you find yourself satisfied with the service provided by your guide and driver, it's suggested that each traveler contribute a total of 7 USD per day to show your appreciation. This optional gratuity is a way of acknowledging the hard work and dedication of those who ensure your journey is enjoyable and hassle-free.
Conclusion
Would it be convenient for you to share your budget with us? Once we have this information, our professional one-on-one travel consultants will craft a customized Tibet travel plan that perfectly aligns with your expectations. Looking forward to your inquiry.
