Tibet Airport Shuttle vs Private Transfer Comparison
Upon arriving in Tibet, almost all foreign tourists head straight to their hotels. After a long and tiring journey, reaching a comfortable accommodation as soon as possible allows them to adjust their schedules and fully prepare for the official start of their Tibetan adventure the next day. Currently, Lhasa has only one civil airport, the Lhasa Gonggar International Airport, situated in Gonggar County, Shannan City, Tibet. With an elevation of 3,570 meters, the airport is approximately 70 kilometers away from downtown Lhasa and the journey usually takes around one hour. There are three popular ways to reach your hotel from the airport, and I will explain each of them in detail.

Our Travel Agency's Airport Transfer: The Popular Choice for Tourists Arriving in Tibet
When you choose our travel agency's all-inclusive Tibet travel package, you'll enjoy the convenience of complimentary airport transfers. Our experienced guide and driver will be waiting to whisk you away to your hotel in a comfortable vehicle. During the ride to your hotel, you can gain insights into local culture and customs through your guide, enriching your travel experience. Our vehicles are equipped with comfortable seating, air conditioning, bottled water, and oxygen tanks to ensure your comfort, especially in Tibet's high-altitude environment. It's important to note that our agency offers four free pick-ups from Gonggar Airport to the city center on designated group tour arrival days, departing from the airport at 10:00, 13:30, 16:00, and 18:30. On the departure day, we provide three free drop-offs from city center hotels to Gonggar Airport, leaving the hotels at 06:30, 08:00, and 12:00. If you miss these scheduled times, you will need to arrange and pay for alternative transportation.

Lhasa Airport Shuttle Buses: The Cheapest Choice for Tourists Arriving in Tibet
If you're looking to experience Lhasa's public transportation and save some money, the airport shuttle bus is a great option. The fare is only about 30 RMB per trip. These buses run every 15 minutes from 4:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., providing ample opportunities to catch a ride. The final stop is just one kilometer away from the Potala Palace in the city center, which is very convenient for sightseeing. Although the shuttle bus takes you from the airport to a central location in the city, your hotel might not be within walking distance, so you may need to take a taxi to reach your hotel.
Taxi Airport Transfer: The Flexible Choice for Tourists Arriving in Tibet
Opting for a taxi or ride-hailing services like DiDi or Gaode offers unparalleled privacy and freedom. Unlike fixed-schedule shuttles, taxis are available 24/7. Whether you land on an early morning flight or arrive late due to delays, you can start your journey to the hotel immediately. The trip from Lhasa Gonggar Airport to downtown usually takes around an hour, costing between 200 to 300 yuan. Enjoy a private, comfortable ride on your own terms.

plan a 7-8days trip for me and my boyfriend in April
Hi! I would like to plan a 7-8days trip for me and my boyfriend in April (3rd to 10th ideally) to Nepal, Tibet, and, if possible, Bhutan. Do you think it would be doable? Based on what I read, there are some places/things to do to consider: Nepal: Everest Base Camp trek and the Annapurna Circuit, ancient temples, sacred sites like Lumbini, Kathmandu, Tibet: The Potala Palace in Lhasa and the Jokhang Temple. eventually the holy Mount Kailash or the high-altitude plains. Bhutan: Thimphu, Paro, and the famous Tiger’s Nest Monastery. To take part in cultural traditions, yoga, meditation... Of course I am open to any recommendations you could make. For your reference, we are both based in Asia: him, in Bangkok and myself in Macau. Thank you so much for the information you could provide and, if possible, an estimated budget for your offer.
