Tibet Travel Rules for Solo Travelers
There are several essential requirements that must be met to build a smooth Tibet trip. First and foremost, all foreign visitors must obtain the Tibet Travel Permit, which is mandatory for entry into Tibet and can't be applied for individually. Instead, it must be processed through a qualified Tibet travel agency in China. Importantly, this permit is only issued when you book a Tibet tour package with the agency, making it an integral part of your travel arrangements.
In addition to the Tibet Travel Permit, foreign visitors must also secure a Chinese visa prior to their trip. It is highly recommended to apply for a tourist visa (L visa). When completing the visa application, remember to avoid mentioning Tibet as your travel destination. This precaution helps prevent potential complications during the visa approval process.

Special Requirements for Solo Travelers from Nepal to Tibet
Travelers entering Tibet from Nepal face additional requirements. Unless you are from a country that enjoys visa-free access to China, you will need to apply for a Chinese Group Visa at the Chinese Embassy in Kathmandu. This type of visa is valid for a single entry and typically has a 30-day validity period.
Unlike individual Chinese visa, the Chinese Group Visa requires a minimum of four people to apply as a team. All members of the group must travel together throughout Tibet and enter/exit China simultaneously. When applying, you must provide detailed information about your travel itinerary and schedule in China. Once you book our Kathmandu to Tibet tour package such as 8 Days Kathmandu to Lhasa Overland with EBC Tour, our travel agency will assist you in applying for the Chinese Group Visa at the Chinese Embassy in Kathmandu.
Travel Tips for Solo Travelers in Tibet
Joining a Tibet group tour is highly recommended as it offers excellent value for money and provides opportunities to travel with other tourists, enhancing safety and companionship. Safety should always be a top priority. Solo travelers should adhere to local laws, regulations, and customs. Careful itinerary planning is also essential. Tibet's vast territory means that attractions are often far apart. Solo travelers should arrange their schedules wisely to avoid excessive fatigue.

Additional Considerations
For solo travelers planning to visit areas such as Everest Base Camp or Ngari, additional permits are required beyond the Tibet Travel Permit and Chinese Group Visa. These include the Alien's Travel Permit and Military Area Entry Permit. Fortunately, these documents are typically handled by your travel agency, simplifying the process for you.

Conclusion
If there are any problems, we are always pleased to solve them for you.

plan a 7-8days trip for me and my boyfriend in April
Hi! I would like to plan a 7-8days trip for me and my boyfriend in April (3rd to 10th ideally) to Nepal, Tibet, and, if possible, Bhutan. Do you think it would be doable? Based on what I read, there are some places/things to do to consider: Nepal: Everest Base Camp trek and the Annapurna Circuit, ancient temples, sacred sites like Lumbini, Kathmandu, Tibet: The Potala Palace in Lhasa and the Jokhang Temple. eventually the holy Mount Kailash or the high-altitude plains. Bhutan: Thimphu, Paro, and the famous Tiger’s Nest Monastery. To take part in cultural traditions, yoga, meditation... Of course I am open to any recommendations you could make. For your reference, we are both based in Asia: him, in Bangkok and myself in Macau. Thank you so much for the information you could provide and, if possible, an estimated budget for your offer.
