Does It Snow in Tibet in April?
Yes, it can snow in parts of Tibet during April, but don't picture a constant blizzard. Instead, picture a magical world where spring blossoms meet snowy peaks. This guide will walk you through exactly what to expect weather-wise across different regions.
The High-Probability Snow Zones: Everest, Namtso & Ngari
The Snow Scene: In Everest Base Camp, Namtso Lake, and the remote Ngari region, altitudes soar above 4,500 meters. Here, temperatures often linger below freezing, making sporadic snowfall a common occurrence. Don't worry, it's usually light to moderate snow that clears up quickly. A fresh snowfall is a photographer's dream! It purifies the air, leading to unmatched visibility for those iconic shots of Everest's "Golden Summit" or Namtso's stunning "blue ice and snow" landscape.

The Occasional Dusting Zones: Lhasa & Yamdrok Lake
You can breathe easily in the cultural heartland. While snow is possible, it's rarely disruptive.
The Snow Scene: In Lhasa and Shigatse, daytime temperatures are quite pleasant (10 to 15°C). If snow does come, it's typically a brief, light dusting overnight or at dawn that melts away quickly under the strong spring sun. You might be treated to the incredible sight of the Potala Palace's red and white walls set against a backdrop of snowy hills—a truly unforgettable photo op. Your sightseeing plans will almost certainly go ahead uninterrupted, so you can focus on soaking in the rich culture.

The "Snow-Free" Spring Havens: Nyingchi
If you're looking to avoid snow entirely and bask in springtime glory, this is your zone.
The Spring Scene: Nyingchi, sits at a lower altitude and is blessed by moist air. In April, it's a vibrant land of pink peach blossoms against green valleys and turquoise rivers. As a perfect starting point of your Tibet trip, this region is not only stunning but also perfect for acclimatization. Its lower elevation and richer oxygen make it an ideal, gentle introduction to Tibet, especially for first-time visitors, families with children, or seniors.

Conclusion
So, is April a good time for Tibet? Absolutely! The occasional snow isn't a drawback; it's a bonus that adds another layer of beauty to this land of snow.

plan a 7-8days trip for me and my boyfriend in April
Hi! I would like to plan a 7-8days trip for me and my boyfriend in April (3rd to 10th ideally) to Nepal, Tibet, and, if possible, Bhutan. Do you think it would be doable? Based on what I read, there are some places/things to do to consider: Nepal: Everest Base Camp trek and the Annapurna Circuit, ancient temples, sacred sites like Lumbini, Kathmandu, Tibet: The Potala Palace in Lhasa and the Jokhang Temple. eventually the holy Mount Kailash or the high-altitude plains. Bhutan: Thimphu, Paro, and the famous Tiger’s Nest Monastery. To take part in cultural traditions, yoga, meditation... Of course I am open to any recommendations you could make. For your reference, we are both based in Asia: him, in Bangkok and myself in Macau. Thank you so much for the information you could provide and, if possible, an estimated budget for your offer.
