Tibet Travel Budget Tips for European Tourists
That touring Tibet costs a lot is a popular stereotype, and some tourists bother about the tour costs. But in fact, traveling doesn't necessarily mean high expenses. As long as you learn about some money-saving tips, you will enjoy a budget-friendly Tibet trip without compromising the quality of your tour. This article aims to guide you to go on an economical and unforgettable Tibet trip. So hopefully it's helpful.
Opt for Off-Season Tibet Trip
The peak tourist season in Tibet is generally from April to October, during which the overall costs of Tibet trip rise because tourists in Tibet increase sharply. On the flip side, if you choose to visit Tibet during the off-season from November to March of the following year, the costs for Tibet trip will significantly decrease, and you can avoid crowds and experience the tranquility and purity of Tibetan landscape more deeply. During the off-season, some attractions offer discounted prices in winter and some attractions like the Potala Palace, Everest Base Camp, Lake Yamdrok, are free to visit. Additionally, the prices of hotel rooms, trains, and flights decrease as well.
Save Money on Transportation
Always try to keep an eye on the airline's promotional information and book flight tickets in advance. If time permits, you can consider flying to some gateway cities in China such as Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Chongqing, Chengdu, Xi'an, and then taking a train from these cities to Tibet. The train journey might add to the enjoyment of your trip.
Draw up Your Tibet Trip Plan and Make Preparation in Advance
Under the existing rules, foreign tourists can't travel independently in Tibet. It's necessary that you book a Tibet trip through a registered travel agency, so that you can start your Tibet trip. As the travel agency needs to handle your Tibet Travel Permit and other relevant documents in advance. In addition, the travel agency will arrange a series of services such as tour guides, drivers, transportation, accommodation, and attraction tickets during your Tibet trip. Typically, booking in advance can also enjoy the early booking discounts.
Save Money on Dining
You can prioritize Tibetan snacks. There are many delicious and affordable snacks in Tibet. Go to local snack streets, night markets, or roadside stalls and taste the authentic Tibetan flavors, which is much cheaper than dining at a European cuisine restaurant. Avoid eating at high-end restaurants in attractions or busy commercial areas, where the prices are usually higher. Instead, choose local restaurants that your tour guide will recommend.
Choose a Group Tour.
Participating in a Tibet tour can gather like-minded people to join the same travel route. All members share the maximum expenses in the trip, such as the guide's and driver's service fees and vehicle expenses. As a result, the total cost of the trip is greatly reduced. The total cost of the trip is lower than the price of a private customized trip. You can also stay in a standard room with your tour members, thus avoiding a single - room supplement in Tibet trip.
Choose a Reliable Travel Agency
Our travel agency always provide affordable and worthwhile tour packages. We are confident in our economical prices with excellent services. The cost breakdown is listed clearly in the tour package, thus helping you make a detailed budget plan before your Tibet trip.
Conclusion
Don't hesitate about your travel budget anymore, and start using these money-saving tips now! Welcome to our customers to inquire.
