Trek around Mt. Kailash in Tibet Trip to Refresh Your Soul in 2025
Over the years, more and more tourists tend to trek around Mt. Kailash in Tibet trip. Rather than simply visiting temples, a self challenge by trekking seems to fascinate some tourists intensely. The Indus River, Ganges River, and Brahmaputra River all originate in sacred Mt. Kailash. Located in the Ali region of Tibet, Mt. Kailash is regarded as the center of the world by Tibetan Buddhism. A Trek around the sacred Mt. Kailash is believed to have the function of cleansing the sins of a lifetime and striving for a better rebirth. Believers from India, Nepal, Bhutan, and Tibet visit Mt. Kailash for worship every year. On the annual Saga Dawa Festival, which falls on April 15 in the Tibetan calendar (2025 June 11 in the solar calender), trekking around Mount Kailash is the most popular event. Tibetans will hold a grand prayer flag hanging ceremony at the foot of Mt. Kailash to pray for blessings. The power of religious belief is beyond your imagination if you are willing to deeply immerse in the inner world.
Except for religious factor, Mt. Kailash, as one of the world's final unspoiled places, is a paradise for nature lovers and trekking enthusiasts. In the shape of a pyramid, the summit of Mt. Kailash is covered with permanent snow and glaciers, surrounded by so many strange peaks and rolling mountain meadows. Away from tall buildings in modern city, there is just a primitive and beautiful natural scenery in sight. You may be able to catch a glimpse of rare animals such as Tibetan antelopes and snow leopards in the grasslands or mountain valleys near Mt. Kailash. During your trek around Mt. Kailash, faced with towering mountains, you may feel how small you are in the vast world. The slow pace of the journey and the peaceful atmosphere make you leave your worries behind. I believe the fancy experience is sure to increase your chance of acquiring inspirations for life.
The Best Time to Trek around Mt. Kailash
Generally speaking, the golden time is from September to October, but try to avoid the period of China's National Day. Compared to the rainy summer, the weather tends to be dry at this time. Less clouds allow for a better panoramic view of Mt. Kailash. Meanwhile, moderate temperatures ease the burden of carrying too many warm clothes.
The next best time is from mid-May to the end of June. This is Tibet’s spring. It is gradually getting warmer and the snow is starting to melt. The meadow is awaking to life and flowers are in bloom.
